The old intro to the game went like this:

Have you ever wondered if your friend was really in cahoots with Agug the Sleepless Terrorist? Or if that other friend of yours was seen riding Ragnash the Wolf of the Underworld while hunting in the night after the Quadra Sisters? You are not alone. I wonder this also.

Inspired by such questions, this game first took form on cue cards during my final exams at university in the winter of 2007 and it went latent for some time with only intermittent trial plays with friends. Then, like Maneeri’s explosive Ninja smack, it resurfaced and I printed version 1.1 on actual playing cards in the fall of 2011 via in order to playtest the game more with friends and foes alike. Since then, Gwythral the drake of the North has been seen flying overhead in Churchbridge and terrorizing our Saskatchewan flatlands.

Brutus says it best:

The enemy increaseth every day;
We, at the height, are ready to decline.
There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

We have little time to strike back. If ye be a friend, join Speedy and I in our struggle to retake the Workshop. If ye be a foe, then expect a visitation by Agug in the night.
